LUBERON
UNESCO GLOBAL GEOPARK
In 2004, the Luberon Regional Nature Park became a member of the Global Geoparks Network under the auspices of UNESCO. In 2015, the International Geoscience and Geoparks Programme was set up by the General Conference of UNESCO.
The Luberon Regional Nature Park thus was recognized as a UNESCO Global Geopark.
This international label, recognizes the commitment of the Park for the Earth heritages protection and enhancement. This commitment results in many actions carried out by the Luberon Regional Nature Park, as well as partners, concerning scientific research, conservation, educational actions, public awareness, geotourism development, co-operation within the Global Geoparks Network, etc.

The Luberon UNESCO Global Geopark is located in the southeast of France, in Provence, close to the towns of Aix-en-Provence and Avignon.
