Au sud se trouvent les marnes aptiennes. Au sud et \u00e0 mesure que l\u2019on descend vers Apt et Gargas, les marnes sont couvertes d\u2019alluvions et surmont\u00e9es de buttes-t\u00e9moins tertiaires o\u00f9 alternent sables, calcaire, argiles, conglom\u00e9rats divers.<\/p>\n<h4>Le village primitif sur le rocher, le donjon et la chapelle castrale<\/h4>\n<p>Sur la colline se dressait le village m\u00e9di\u00e9val du XI\u00e8me si\u00e8cle. Le rocher, encore entour\u00e9 de remparts d\u00e9limite le premier village fortifi\u00e9. En montant au ch\u00e2teau par des calades en pierres, vous d\u00e9couvrirez les nombreux vestiges pr\u00e9serv\u00e9s des anciens remparts, les portes, les tours carr\u00e9es\u2026<\/p>\n<p>La table panoramique au bas du jardin du chemin de croix de la chapelle castrale offre une vue \u00e9poustouflante sur le bassin d&#8217;Apt et le massif du Luberon.<\/p>\n<h4>Le Moulin<\/h4>\n<p>\u00c0 l\u2019origine, quatre moulins datant du 17-18eme Si\u00e8cles occupaient les hauteurs de Saint Saturnin l\u00e8s Apt. U<span class=\"establishment-light-description\">n de ces moulins a \u00e9t\u00e9 restaur\u00e9 sur la cr\u00eate du village. Autour du moulin se trouve l&#8217;aire de s\u00e9chage du grain et les ruines des locaux annexes destin\u00e9s \u00e0 l&#8217;ensachage et le stockage des stocks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"establishment-light-description\">La toiture conique est particuli\u00e8rement bien adapt\u00e9e au souffle du Mistral. Ce toit, constitu\u00e9 d&#8217;un assemblage de pi\u00e8ces de bois en arc de cercle, est mobile et permet d&#8217;orienter les ailes face au vent. Dominant le village et tout le Pays d\u2019Apt, le site du moulin offre une vue \u00e9poustouflante.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Le four \u00e0 chaux<\/h4>\n<p>Avant le d\u00e9but de l\u2019industrialisation, chaque village poss\u00e9dait en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral un four \u00e0 chaux pour l\u2019usage de la communaut\u00e9. Le four \u00e0 chaux de Saint-Saturnin-l\u00e8s-Apt se situe sur le site des moulins. Ce four a servi \u00e0 cuire la gypse et calcaire et a pu permettre la fabrication de pl\u00e2tre.
