Issus de l\u2019histoire mouvement\u00e9e de la r\u00e9gion et de l\u2019adaptation au milieu naturel, les villages que nous connaissons aujourd\u2019hui se sont implant\u00e9s d\u00e8s l\u2019An Mil, sur les hauteurs, autour des ch\u00e2teaux fortifi\u00e9s. Les hameaux quant \u00e0 eux se sont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s plus tardivement dans les plaines. C\u2019est ce contraste entre les villages accroch\u00e9s aux reliefs abrupts et les paysages agricoles aux courbes lentes, parsem\u00e9s de fermes, hameaux et cabanons, qui illustre l\u2019originalit\u00e9 des formes urbaines du Luberon. Durant un mill\u00e9naire, ils se sont agrandis, ont travers\u00e9 de graves crises et v\u00e9cus de belles renaissances. Ce type d'habitations est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement peu fr\u00e9quent en Provence, leur pr\u00e9sence sur le territoire du Luberon traduisant plut\u00f4t une influence alpine.<\/p><div
