NATURA 2000
\n<\/strong>an ambitious European network<\/p><\/h1><\/div>

The Luberon Regional Nature Park is responsible for conservation management of Natura 2000 sites. The Natura 2000 Network is at the heart of the policy of conservation of the European Union and is a key element of the objective aiming to halt the decline in biodiversity. It consists of a set of natural, terrestrial and marine sites, identified for their rare or fragile species of flora and fauna and natural habitats they shelter. The Luberon park contains 9 Natura 2000 sites : 7 Special Protection Areas (SPAs) for the conservation of wild birds species and 2 Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) for the conservation of habitat types and plant and animal species.<\/strong><\/p>\n
